BACKGROUND
My career has followed three main themes so far: I covered high-tech from the early days of the Mac through the dot.com bust. During my "professional expat" phase, I deciphered France and the French for seven years. In 2009-2010, I used my powers for good: communications at a nonprofit.
Throughout, I've relied on four rules of thumb:
- Really understand and empathize with your reader.
- Stay curious about everything, everyone.
- Don't miss the deadline. Just don't.
- Check it again.
Fast. Accurate. Reliable. Careful, but creative. Detail-oriented, but with the big picture in view.
